New Vegan Flavor at World’s Largest Self-Serve FroYo Franchise
Menchie’s now offers a coconut milk-based Tahitian Vanilla vegan flavor at stores nationwide.
January 21, 2016
Menchie’s—the world’s largest self-serve frozen yogurt franchise with 500 locations worldwide—recently announced it will offer a new vegan flavor at participating locations for a limited time. Available throughout January, the vegan flavor is made with Indonesian coconut milk and Tahitian vanilla and is sweetened with organic agave syrup. As for vegan-friendly toppings, in addition to fresh fruit such as lychee, kiwi, and berries, Menchie’s also offers Oreo cookies and nuts. According to the chain, “Menchie’s is making it a point in 2016 to offer new flavors with dairy alternatives, like coconut and almond milk, to reach out to guests who might not be able to enjoy the typical dairy options.” While the availability of the new flavor is up to the individual franchise locations, Jennie Houston, manager of the Valley Village flagship, informed us that at her store, “it was so popular that we sold out,” and that they plan to offer it beyond January as a rotating regular flavor. Companies such as TCBY, 16 Handles, and Pinkberry—which rolled out a line of vegan flavors last May—have also listened to its customers’ growing demands for vegan options.
