Sales of non-dairy topping are slated to increase by 165 percent by 2018 according to a new report compiled by market research firm Fact.Mr. “The non-dairy toppings market is likely to maintain a robust growth rate throughout the period of assessment, 2018-2028, as consumers shift toward veganism and plant-based products,” the report stated. “Steadily increasing consumer awareness regarding health benefits of dairy alternatives continues to remain instrumental in driving sales of non-dairy toppings worldwide.” FMR predicts that the non-dairy toppings will “gain significant traction” as the global baked and frozen goods industries continue to expand. In addition to vegan brands such as So Delicious, non-vegan brands have developed non-dairy whipped cream products to meet consumer demand. In June, ConAgra’s iconic brand Reddi-Wip launched almond milk-based and coconut milk-based whipped cream varieties.
