North America’s First Vegan Cat Café Opens in Montreal

Later this month, North America is getting its first-ever vegan cat café. The third cat café to launch in Montreal and the first vegan one outside Europe, Café Venosa is set to open June 19. Cat cafés began in Japan and offer food, drink, and the option to mingle with resident cats. Café Venosa’s all-vegan menu will feature goodies such as tempeh wraps, Caprese salads, fruit parfaits with cashew cream, eight different soups, and cupcakes—and only fair-trade coffee will be served. All cats at the Montreal shop are rescued from the local SPCA and are available for adoption.
