Vegan fashion brand Apparis recently closed $3 million in seed funding, led by venture capital firm Third Kind Venture Capital. Founded in 2016, the New York City-based, women-owned brand has quickly grown a cult following for its high-quality vegan fur outerwear. Several angel investors participated in the funding round, including vegan MVP New England quarterback Cam Newton. Co-founded by Amelie Brick, a former Louis Vuitton business manager, and Lauren Nouchi, a former Saint Laurent merchandiser, Apparis is currently available in more than 500 stores in the United States and in 20 countries. The brand has also recently expanded to include vegan leather, knitwear, accessories, and homeware.

“In just four years, Apparis has disrupted the fashion industry,” Shana Fisher, Managing Partner at Third Kind Venture Capital, said. “The co-founders bring a unique mix of business and design genius, which has allowed Apparis to become a powerful multichannel brand. We look forward to continuing to support their expansion in the US and globally.”

Apparis plans to use the funding to establish a direct-to-consumer strategy and continue to expand its business locally and internationally. The brand also plans to announce several high-profile brand collaborations this year.
