People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) released its 2016 list of the Top 10 Most Vegan-Friendly Cities in Asia. The organization analyzed the availability of cruelty-free options and number of vegan restaurants in each region to determine its top 10 picks. Taipei, Taiwan topped the list, while Singapore—thanks in part to vegan burger chain Veganburg—came in at number two. Other vegan-friendly destinations include Chiang Mai, Thailand; Makati, Philippines; and Bangalore, India. Hong Kong came in at number six, while PETA pointed out that it’s home to Green Common—a vegetarian supermarket that sells Canada-based meatless meat by Gardein and California-based artisanal vegan cheese from Miyoko’s Kitchen.
