Plant-Based Meat is Good for Business in India
The Economic Times says meatless meat makes good fiscal sense in a country of 1.2 billion.

The Economic Times recently published a feature in its business section that promoted plant-based meat as a tasty, ethical, healthy, and economically viable alternative for India’s resource-pinched 1.2 billion population. The feature highlighted American company Beyond Meat—which recently released its plant-based Beyond Burger that sold out in one hour from the meat counter at Whole Foods Market—and pointed out that such products should entice Indian entrepreneurs to develop products that would counter the resource-intensive growing meat industry in Asia. The development of a plant-based meat market in India, according to the Times, is “just good science and good business sense resulting in greater common good.”
