This month, vegetarian brand Quorn is launching dinosaur-shaped vegan chicken nuggets at retailers across the United Kingdom. The new Roarsomes nuggets will first launch in UK supermarket chain Iceland before expanding to other retailers in May.

Roarsomes are breaded vegan chicken nuggets made with wheat gluten and potato and pea protein. The new product is Quorn’s first product aimed specifically at children needing convenience meat-free meals. It may have also been inspired by a customer’s drunk email to the company in 2018. “I am missing out on eating nuggets shaped like my favorite creatures, but I am a vegetarian, so I can’t eat the real dino nuggets,” @trashgremlin97 said in her email to Quorn, which she shared on Twitter. “I can confidently say adults would like them, because I am an adult, and I may be having a midlife crisis but dame [sic] dudes, I just really want some dino nuggets to cure my depression.”

Roarsomes are a spin-off of the popular dinosaur-shaped nuggets from the 1990s. Brands such as Yummy catered their products to kids with fun shapes and easy cooking instructions. Yummy’s line of Dino Buddies also offer its own Meatless Plant-Based Nuggets in dinosaur shapes.
