Today, healthcare workers at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (CSMC) in Los Angeles will receive 400 vegan pizzas courtesy of The Chloe Temtchine Foundation, an organization founded by singer Chole Temtchine to help individuals living with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH). Temtchine partnered with Pasadena-based vegan shop The Pizza Plant to order the pizzas (which are made as individually wrapped “plantwiches” for easier consumption) for CSMC, where she herself receives treatment for PAH—a chronic illness which requires her to be on a respirator. “Organic, nutrient-rich, plant-based food that can offer comfort to each of the first responders during this historic and incredibly difficult time made sense to me,” Temtchine said. “And what’s better than pizza?”

In January, The Pizza Plant debuted its packaged ready-to-bake pizzas in four flavors (at select Whole Foods Markets in California, which it promoted with a fleet of green trucks giving away free sample slices.
