Starting this month, products from South Africa-based vegan brand The Fry Family Food Co. (“Fry’s”) will be available at Southern California grocery chain Lazy Acres Market, marking the brand’s first retail debut in the United States. The grocery chain will stock 10 of the brand’s most popular products, such as Traditional Burgers, Rice Protein & Chia Nuggets, Tempura Battered Prawn-style Pieces, Soy & Quinoa Country Roast, Golden Crumbed Schnitzels, and sausage rolls. Additional products, including vegan pizza imported from Italy, will hit shelves later this year. “Lazy Acres is excited to partner with Fry’s on their plant-based products. We are committed to providing our customers with healthy alternatives that fit their lifestyles without sacrificing taste,” Joe Ragusa, VP of Marketing for Lazy Acres, said. “As a community-based, natural foods market, it’s our passion and mission to bring in new and exciting brands and Fry’s is a valued addition to our stores.” Founded in 1991 by husband-and-wife team Wally and Debbie Fry, the company currently distributes its vegan products to 27 countries worldwide. Earlier this year, Fry’s partnered with movie theater chain Laemmle Theaters to offer its vegan nuggets in California locations in Glendale, North Hollywood, and Santa Monica.
