Steve Urkel Starts 2019 with Vegan Burgers

Actor Jaleel White celebrated the onset of 2019 with a visit to Los Angeles vegan eatery Monty’s Good Burger. There, the actor indulged in a vegan burger accompanied by a milkshake. Monty’s posted an image of White to its Instagram account with the caption, “This pretty much sums up how we feel about 2019, #letdothis.” White is best known for his role as Steve Urkel on television series Family Matters, where he also played a slew of characters, including Stefan Urquelle—the lovable nerd’s suave alter ego. Fans of the show took to social media to point out that Stefan was actually the character consuming the vegan meal, as White was not wearing Steve’s identifying suspenders and glasses. Founded by Bill Fold and Nic Adler—culinary director at the Coachella Valley Music Festival and producer of annual event Eat Drink Vegan—Monty’s opened its anticipated brick-and-mortar location in LA’s Koreatown neighborhood in August. The question remains whether White ordered the vegan burger with vegan “cheeeeeeese.”
