Sticky Vegan Smokehouse Ribs Launch in Stores Across UK and Ireland

Last week, Sweden-based vegan brand Oumph! Launched vegan Sticky Smokehouse ribs at Tesco stores across the United Kingdom and Ireland. The new product is made with soy-based ribs that are slathered in a “richly flavored” smoky barbecue sauce. “As we expand our plant-based offering, we’re pleased to be introducing Oumph! Sticky Smokehouse to a number of our stores,” Sarah Bird, buying manager of Prepared Foods at Tesco, said. “It’s a fun, tasty option for anyone considering going vegan or trying a flexitarian diet and perfect to support our Veganuary campaign.” In 2018, select Tesco stores added Oumph!’s vegan pizza—topped with Violife cheese, soy-based meat, semi-dried tomatoes, and arugula—to its freezer section in a bid to increase its plant-based options. In May, competing supermarket chain Sainsbury’s also added vegan Sweet ‘n’ Smoky Veggie Ribz made by British brand Plant Power to the shelves of more than 450 UK locations.
