Australian-based vegetarian eatery Doko Demo V recently unveiled the “Pot Plant,” a vegan dessert that, at first glance, appears to be a potted plant. Inspired by a recent trip to Taiwan, owners Jared Peck and Vivian Wu spent two weeks developing the salted caramel-spiked dessert which features brownie-based soil that covers creamy vegan ice cream and is topped with a plant or herb the owners grow on-site. “We played around with ten to 15 different dessert flavors … until we got it perfect,” Doko Demo V co-owner Jared Peck told 9News. “It’s like a piece of art. Everyone who wants to eat it wants to take a photo first, maybe for five or ten minutes.” The AUD $7 ($4.93) dessert is just one highlight at the restaurant, which serves a variety of vegan-friendly options, including Bang Bang Popcorn Chicken, Footlong American Hot Dog, and Peking Duck Pizza.
