Fast-casual chain Sandella’s Flatbread Cafe recently added a 15-item vegan menu to its offerings in an effort to meet the growing demand for plant-based food options. The chain, which currently has 70 locations at university campuses, hospitals, and corporate settings across the United States, is known for its customizable menu of portable hot and cold sandwiches (made with Sandella’s proprietary flatbread), salads, and rice bowls. The new vegan menu features dishes such as Avocado Veggie Burgers, Hawaiian Tofu Flatbread Pizzas, Brazilian Tofu and Quinoa Bowls, Spinach and Falafel Bistro Wraps, and Hummus and Avocado Wraps. Sandella’s joins a number of other eateries debuting vegan menus at university, healthcare, and corporate cafeterias across the nation. Last month, vegan fast-casual chain Veggie Grill announced its partnership with food-service company Sodexo to open locations at select university and college campuses nationwide. In 2018, Sodexo also launched plant-based menus comprised of 200 recipes across hundreds of cafeterias across the US.
