New York-based brand and restaurant Hu Kitchen recently partnered with medical scrubs maker FIGS to deliver 30,000 new sets of scrubs and 17,000 Hu vegan chocolate products to medical workers at more than 100 hospitals across the United States. In addition, Hu is matching purchases of its grain-free crackers with donations to two local New York City food banks, City Harvest and Rethink Food NYC

“We really wanted to find any way to show gratitude to the medical professionals on the frontlines battling this disease. It hit a personal note for us being based in NYC,” Hu cofounder Jessica Karp told VegNews. “These packages are just a small token of gratitude compared to the sacrifices these medical professionals are making.” The brand initially created its chocolate for use in its fast-casual restaurant Hu Kitchen. The company has since expanded to become one of the fastest-growing snacking companies in the country.
