North Carolina-based vegan meat brand No Evil Foods expanded its distribution this month to 75 locations of supermarket chain Wegmans in seven states. The Southern company  makes chickpea- and seitan-based sausages, chorizo, chicken, and pulled pork, and plans to double its production capacity this fall to meet demand with a new 16,000 square-foot facility. “We are also seeing people really responding to our product from a health perspective,” co-founder Sadrah Schadel said, before explaining that vegan and non-vegan customers are looking for products that are free of cholesterol and rich in protein. By Thanksgiving, No Evil Foods plans to restock “The Pardon”—a vegan centerpiece it created to rival turkey during the holiday season.
