Vegan Gift Shop Opens in Time for the Holidays

Online shop Duke & Lulu’s—dedicated to selling cruelty-free, handmade home goods—recently launched in time for the holiday gift-giving season. Owners Joel and Alyse Knudsen of Oregon created the shop because they were frustrated with the current handmade marketplace where many items contained leather, wool, or other animal products. “Being kind to animals and to the environment are important components to being a thoughtful consumer,” Alyse Knudsen said. Duke & Lulu’s brings together a curated collection of items produced in small batches by United States-based artisans, such as cutting boards, tableware, linens, art prints, candles, paper goods, and desk accessories. “We opened Duke & Lulu’s in order to offer exceptional handmade products to customers who also appreciate and understand the value of handcrafted goods,” Joel Knudsen said.
