This week, organic vegan snack brand HIPPEAS launched its newest product line exclusively at Whole Foods Market nationwide. The new line features three flavors of chickpea-based tortilla chips: Jalapeño Vegan Cheddar, Rockin’ Ranch, and Straight Up Sea Salt. “We are thrilled to be the exclusive launch partner for HIPPEAS’ new line of vegan tortilla chips,” David Woods, Senior Category Merchant for Grocery at Whole Foods Market, said. “Plant-based and vegan items are continuing to drive growth across a wide array of categories, and we are excited to broaden our selection with this new, salty snack option that’s offered nationwide.” In 2017, actor Leonardo DiCaprio invested an undisclosed amount for a minority stake in HIPPEAS, which has since raised $10 million in capital funding to expand its snack brand. In addition to tortilla chips, the brand offers a variety of vegan chickpea-based puffs in flavors such as Vegan White Cheddar, Bohemian Barbecue, Sriracha Sunshine, and Nacho Vibes.
