Iconic brand Reddi-Wip announced this week that it will soon launch a plant-based version of its whipped cream. Sean Connolly, CEO of Reddi-Wip’s parent company Conagra, told media outlet CNBC that the company will formulate the new plant-based Reddi-Wip with ingredients including coconut and almond milk in an effort to serve a growing number of customers looking for non-dairy options. “Our mantra back at the home office is, ‘What’s next?’” Connolly said. “So, our foot is squarely on the gas when it comes to innovation.” A growing number of major food brands are creating new plant-based products to appeal to modern consumers, including Starbucks, which will soon launch plant-based versions of its bottled Frappuccinos; Ben & Jerry’s, which continues to add almond milk-based flavors to its vegan ice cream line; and Coffee-Mate, which debuted four vegan creamers earlier this year.
