Chicago-based Native Foods Café—a popular vegan restaurant chain with 19 locations across the country—is partnering with three non-profit organizations to further its mission of promoting plant-based cuisine. In a new program called “Native Pals,” ticket proceeds from events like a speaker series, film screenings, animal adoptions, and chef tastings will go to Farm Sanctuary, Mercy For Animals, and The Surfrider Foundation. Native Foods Café co-owner, Andrea McGinty, says that “we’ve always admired the work that these groups do, and by working together, we hope to accomplish so much more in the plant-based movement.” The Chicago-based restaurant group plans to open eight more locations this year.
