On March 19, professional chefs will compete against seasoned home chefs in the third annual Vegan Iron Chef in San Francisco. The theme of this year’s competition is “handheld foods,” so attendees can expect dishes ranging from burritos and sandwiches to spring rolls and eclairs. Emceed by past winner and personal chef, Lisa Books-Williams, the festivities include a pre-competition reception, music, a full tasting of the chef’s creations (for premium ticket holders), and a celebratory after-party. In 2014, New York chef-sensation Jay Astafa took home the title of Vegan Iron Chef.
