The newly vegan actress felt like an “a**hole” for bringing a leather handbag to Little Pine and has since veganized her closet.

Actress Mena Suvari recently removed all animal products from her closet after visiting musician/animal-activist Moby’s restaurant Little Pine in Los Angeles. In a guest blog post on Alicia Silverstone’s blog The Kind Life, Suvari explained that she adopted a plant-based diet earlier this year but still owned clothing made with animal products. “I recall the moment I walked into Little Pine with my overpriced, designer handbag (which was a massive leather tote) and feeling like an a**hole,” Suvari wrote. “I knew then that I would donate of it all! All my handbags, my shoes, my leather pants and start anew.” The actress has since replaced items in her closet with vegan alternatives from vegan retailers and brands MooShoes, Susi Studio, and Angela Roi—where she purchased a vegan tote bag to replace the one she donned at Little Pine. “I have always loved fashion and I think it’s so important to show how you truly can have it all by ‘doing good’ and giving back,” Suvari said. “I look forward to continuing my journey of finding more and more designers and special pieces to add to my closet.”
