Starbucks Releases Vegan Pumpkin Spice Sauce

Pumpkin Spice Latte season just got a lot more vegan.

European locations of Starbucks will be using a clearly labeled vegan mix to create Pumpkin Spice Lattes this fall. A Reddit user spotted packages of Vegan Pumpkin Sauce with Spice Flavorings—which feature 2 percent pumpkin puree—inside a Starbucks location. While the coffeehouse typically crafts its Pumpkin Spice Lattes with condensed milk in the United States, European customers can now indulge in a vegan version of the fall beverage thanks to the new mix. In recent years, Starbucks has shifted its focus to cater to growing consumer demand for plant-based food and beverages both in the US and abroad. Starbucks added a nutella-inspired Hazelnut Mocha Coconutmilk Macchiato to its spring menu in the US and launched four vegan food options—a Vegan Wrap with Falafel & Slaw, Kale Jalapeño & Slaw Wrap, Vegan Chocolate & Raspberry Cake, and Mango with Lime Fruit Pot—to its UK locations this summer.
