United Kingdom-based chain Pret A Manger will open the fourth location of its vegetarian outpost, Veggie Pret, in Manchester in October. The new location—the first in the UK outside of London—will be the first to debut a new menu (that includes vegan options such as dark-chocolate enrobed Almond Butter Bites  and Dark Chocolate Salted Almonds) which will be added to other locations of Veggie Pret, as well. “When we asked customers on social media where they’d like to see the next Veggie Pret, Manchester was the top request. We’re delighted to be able to reveal today that the city is our next location,” Hannah Dolan, Head of Food Development at Pret, said. “Veggie Pret is still growing and the future is looking as green as ever. We want customers to keep telling us what they think—and where they’d like to see Veggie Pret next.” In 2016, Pret CEO Clive Schlee noticed a growing demand for meatless options and tested the fist Veggie Pret as a pop-up in London. After overwhelming customer demand, Schlee opened three permanent locations, including an outpost in Hong Kong, of Veggie Pret—which all serve an abundance of vegan options, including Vegan Mac & Greens, which features rigati pasta, cauliflower florets, and the chain’s vegan béchamel sauce.
