Today, diner chain Denny’s added the Beyond Burger to the menu of its Los Angeles locations with a nationwide rollout planned in 2020. The new burger features a vegan Beyond Meat patty that is topped with tomatoes, onions, lettuce, pickles, American cheese, and All-American sauce and is served on a multigrain bun—the cheese and sauce are not vegan. “We could not be more excited to announce this game-changing partnership with Beyond Meat,” Denny’s Chief Brand Officer John Dillon said. “As a company we strive to evolve with the tastes and demands of our customers and we knew finding a plant-based option that met our incredibly high-quality standards and taste expectations was critical in staying at the top of our game. The new Beyond Burger at Denny’s offers guests a great tasting burger, and we’re delighted to launch it in Los Angeles, and will be preparing for the national rollout in 2020.” In 2010, Denny’s replaced its vegetarian patty with a vegan patty made by Amy’s Kitchen at its then 1,500 locations nationwide. “We’re working to make delicious plant-based meat as accessible as possible and believe the Denny’s Beyond Burger will be well-received by longtime fans and new guests alike,” said Tim Smith, Beyond Meat’s Vice President of North America Sales Foodservice. “Through our partnership with Denny’s, we look forward to introducing more families to the nutritional and environmental benefits of consuming plant-based meat.” To celebrate the launch, Denny’s will “treat” their customers to a free Beyond Burger (with the purchase of a beverage) on October 31 (Halloween) from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at any Los Angeles location while supplies last. Next month, fast-food chain Dunkin’ will expand its partnership with Beyond Meat by adding the Beyond Breakfast Sausage (which can be ordered vegan upon request) to the menu of its more than 9,000 locations nationwide.
