Democratic presidential candidate Cory Booker—who has been vegan since 2014—released a humorous video montage in celebration of World Vegan Day. The video shows Booker raving about vegan foods, meeting fellow vegans, telling vegan jokes, and asking a woman to hold his brownie—which he made sure to tell her was a “vegan brownie.”
Booker has frequently promoted veganism on his campaign trail, most recently during the Democratic presidential debate last month. Earlier this week, a video shared by Josh Tetrick—CEO of food technology startup JUST—revealed that Booker recently purchased vegan egg replacer JUST Egg for the first time. Booker touted the product as “a game-changer in terms of the impact it’s going to have on the environment, for the mistreatment of animals, [and] for the health of Americans and globally.”
