Democratic presidential candidate Cory Booker has finally sampled vegan egg replacer JUST Egg, and he loved it. The New Jersey Senator purchased the mung bean-based egg replacer at a Whole Foods Market in the Washington, DC area. The experience was documented in a video JUST CEO Josh Tetrick posted on Twitter.

“I finally got my hands on JUST Egg,” Booker said in the video, standing alongside JUST co-founder Josh Balk. “I grabbed two bottles, and I think I ate both of them completely—I probably shouldn’t be admitting that on a recording—that night.” Balk asked Booker if he drank the JUST Egg “Rocky style”—a famous scene from classic film Rocky where boxer Rocky Balboa drinks nearly a dozen raw eggs in one gulp. “I did not,” Booker responded. “Although I could do that now.” JUST debuted its vegan egg replacer in grocery stores in April and has since sold the vegan equivalent of more than 15 million chicken eggs. “I am so psyched. I can’t wait to see more of what you guys do,” Booker said. “But this is a game-changer in terms of the impact it’s going to have on the environment, for the mistreatment of animals, [and] for the health of Americans and globally.” Booker has been vegan since 2014 and has promoted veganism on his campaign trail, most recently during the Democratic presidential debate earlier this month. “Senator Booker is who he seems,” Tetrick told VegNews. “A man of deep integrity who is committed to making the world a little better. We’re lucky to have him as a leader.”
