On February 3, fast-food chains Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s will both launch special offers on Beyond Meat menu items to help Super Bowl fans recover from over-consuming meat products. Customers who use the phrase “Beyond the Game” when ordering at either of the two chains will receive a free menu item made with vegan Beyond Meat products with the purchase of any beverage. At Carl’s Jr., the deal includes the Beyond Sausage Burrito, Beyond Sausage Egg & Cheese Biscuit, Beyond Famous Star burger, and Beyond BBQ Cheeseburger. At Hardee’s, the deal features the Beyond Sausage Burrito, Beyond Sausage Biscuit, and Beyond Sausage & Egg Biscuit. All options featured in the deal at both chains are served with animal products such as egg, cheese, special sauce, onion rings, and/or mayonnaise but can be ordered without those non-vegan items. Customers should note that both Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. biscuits contain milk-derived ingredients.

In January 2019, Carl’s Jr.—which is owned by Hardee’s parent company CKE Restaurants—first partnered with Beyond Meat to launch the Beyond Famous Star, a meatless version of its classic burger. Hardee’s began experimenting with Beyond Meat products shortly thereafter before expanding the meatless option to its menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at select locations in October. In December, both Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s expanded the all-day Beyond Meat menu to its locations system wide.

While meatless options typically come at a premium, fast-food chains have begun to offer them at more accessible pricing points, including Burger King which recently added the Impossible Whopper to its “2 for $6” deal.
