This week, California-based vegan brand Forager Project donated $350,000 in products to food banks to help relieve hunger during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The donation will result in more than 46,000 meals distributed to Alameda County Community Food Bank, City Harvest NYC, Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino, and Indio Chamber of Commerce.
“Our company’s mission has always been to improve human and planet health by focusing on food that’s plant-based and organic, and with local food banks struggling to meet demand right now, we feel it’s more important than ever to step up and help those communities in need,” Stephen Williamson, Forager Project co-founder and CEO, said. “We have been incredibly fortunate to be able to continue operating and serving our customers during this time, so this is the least we can do to help fight hunger.”
Founded in 2013, the family-owned company produces a variety of dairy alternatives, including cashew-based probiotic yogurts, milks, creamers, butter, and sour cream, along with chips and cereals.
