Musician Ariana Grande recently announced the opening of Orange Twins Rescue, a new animal shelter in Los Angeles that works to rescue stray cats and dogs. “We are so happy, proud, and excited,” Grande announced on Instagram, adding that a website for the shelter is in the works. Orange Twins Rescue is currently caring for several animals, including 20-year-old chihuahua Jolene, cat mom Sun (whose surrogate kittens will be available for adoption soon), and calico cat Mani (who is recovering from leg surgery).

Grande—who has adopted 10 dogs herself—transitioned to a plant-based diet in 2013. “I love animals more than I love most people, not kidding,” Grande told The Mirror in 2014. “But I am a firm believer in eating a full plant-based, whole food diet that can expand your life length and make you an all-round happier person.” Despite her love of animals, Grande’s plant-based journey hit a few hiccups in the road. In 2015, the musician was famously filmed licking a non-vegan doughnut at a bakery in Los Angeles and last year, the 27-year-old promoted a non-vegan Cloud Macchiato beverage at Starbucks.
