Vegan business Slutty Vegan will soon launch its vegan bacon—called “Slutty Strips”—at grocery stores. The company teased the new product launch on social media this month, captioning a photo of the non-GMO soy-based bacon with “coming soon to a grocery aisle near you.”
Slutty Vegan uses the Taiwan-made vegan bacon on its burgers at both its mobile and permanent locations in Atlanta. Much like its food truck and brick-and-mortar eatery—which has been frequented by the likes of Snoop Dogg, Usher, Tyler Perry, and Lena Waithe—the announcement of the forthcoming vegan bacon gained support from celebrities, including American Idol season six winner Jordin Sparks who posted a series of joyful crying emojis on Instagram. Since launching in 2018, the eatery has become so popular that visitors often wait in lines for up to five hours to get “slutffied”—or sample the eatery’s famed Impossible Burger-based creations. Earlier this month, CNN political analyst Angela Rye emphatically praised the vegan eatery during her keynote commencement speech at HBCU Wiley College in Texas.
