Vegan meats made by North Carolina based No Evil Foods are now available at 250 Walmart locations in eight states, with plans to expand to additional locations next year. Founded in 2014, the woman-owned brand creates plant-based products such as Pit Boss BBQ Pulled Pork, Comrade Cluck Chicken, The Stallion Sausage, and El Zapatista Chorizo. Walmart added No Evil Foods products to its shelves due to consumer demand for more vegan products. “Ninety-one percent of Americans live within 10 miles of a Walmart and the success of our mission is largely based on our ability to provide compromise-free alternatives to everyone,” No Evil Foods co-founder Sadrah Schadel said. This month, California-based brand Alpha Foods’ line of vegan pot pies in four flavors—Beefy Cheddar, Chik’n Veggie, Pizza, and Buffalo Chik’n—debuted at Walmart locations nationwide.
