Charlotte, NC-based vegan food truck Romeo’s Vegan Burgers was recently asked to find a new location because of the long lines it attracts. The food truck, which launched just two months ago, has been so popular that customers line up down the street to get a meal. The owner of the vacant lot where Romeo’s has been parking noticed the daily crowds and told them they had to leave because of liability concerns.

Romeo’s was created by Tigo Faulkner and Lamont Heath—a recording artist known as “Tigo B” and his manager—because they have not been able to tour or record music during the pandemic. Opening a vegan restaurant was something the two had always talked about. Romeo’s specializes in vegan burgers made using Beyond Meat and Impossible patties, Follow Your Heart cheese, and house-made sauces; chili cheese fries; tater tots; housemade lemonade, and milkshakes made with soy-based ice cream.

Though Faulkner and Heath knew the community would support their new business venture, they did not expect to be so successful so quickly. Since being asked to move, Romeo’s is currently parking at various other locations until the owners find a more permanent home.
