Where are Americans buying organic food? These days, Costco reins king. Last week, the big-box retailer announced that sales of organic products are up 33 percent to more than $4 billion—surpassing the $3.6 billion in organic sales reported by Whole Foods Market. According to CFO Richard Galanti, the store is attracting millennials and their desire to consume vegan and healthy options at affordable prices. Currently, Costco stores offers a variety of organic items in their produce section along with packaged goods like juices, whole grains, sauces, and snacks. With locations in 43 states, Costco has 474 stores nationwide.
