Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay recently added a vegan Sunday Roast to the menu of his London-based restaurants Bread Street Kitchen (BSK), Maze Grills, and London House. The dish consists of a vegan nut-based roast with plant-based trimmings. “It’s happened … the #vegan roast has landed at [Bread Street Kitchen],” Ramsay tweeted about the new dish. The roast was added to the menu following the success of Ramsay’s vegan Beet Wellington at BSK, which is part of the restaurant’s dedicated vegan menu that launched in January to coincide with the worldwide Veganuary campaign. “If the roast is going to survive, it needs to evolve to meet the expectations, and diets, of our generation,” his restaurant website says. “Hence, the rise of the vegan and vegetarian roast.” Ramsay was once a critic of veganism but has recently embraced the rising consumer interest in plant-based foods. Last month, he announced the addition of the Impossible Burger to the menu of Bread Street Kitchen’s Singapore location.
