Today, United Kingdom-based convenience chain Greggs hinted that it will expand its vegan offerings next month. In a video clip posted to its Instagram page, the chain revealed it will be  launching “Greggs X Vegan” in January 2020. Greggs has yet to confirm which vegan items will be part of the launch, but the chain revealed back in August that it was working on plant-based versions of its best-selling products. Currently, the chain’s popular non-vegan items include steak bakes; sausage, bean, and cheese rolls; and beef and vegetable pasties. The chain first launched a highly publicized vegan version of its popular sausage roll earlier this year, which was so successful that the chain had to increase production to satisfy demand. The sausage roll—which features 96 layers of puff pastry surrounding a Quorn-based vegan sausage—was expanded to all 1,950 Greggs locations across the UK and attributed to the company’s surge in stock prices. Last month, Greggs CEO Roger Whiteside announced he had switched to a plant-based diet after watching vegan documentary The Game Changers
