Starting today, Mooby’s—a once-fictitious and now real restaurant created by director Kevin Smith—is delivering its meals nationwide through digital food marketplace GoldBelly. Mooby’s was first introduced to the world as a fictional restaurant in Smith’s 1999 film Dogma—and made appearances in his other movies such as Clerks II and Jay and Silent Bob. In April, the restaurant came to life as a delivery-only pop-up in Los Angeles where it served Cowtipper burgers, hater totz, and lasagna sandwiches. The meal kits ($79) are packed with enough food to feed six people and feature six Beyond Burger-based Vegan Cowtipper Burgers, sides of vegan chocolate-covered pretzels, four branded Mooby’s cups, four pretzel bags, a Kevin Smith download card, and a Mooby’s Meal gift. “Derek, who created the Mooby’s Pop Up, had a great idea, and he teamed up with the good folks at GoldBelly to be able to provide movie meals everywhere,” Smith said. “That means if you’re in New Jersey and you want to order a Mooby’s meal, you can do it.”

After surviving a “widow-maker” heart attack, Smith went vegan—with the help of his vegan daughter Harley Quinn Smith—in 2018. While Mooby’s is not fully vegan, it was important to Smith to provide fans with equally delicious vegan options.
