In its regular “How I Made It” feature, the Los Angeles Times recently featured the founder of Gardein Protein International, Yves Potvin. Potvin, who also founded Yves Fine Food before selling it to Hain Celestial in 2001, has grown Gardein into a $100 million business selling everything from vegan barbecue wings, meatless meatballs, and black bean burgers. Credited with creating the world’s first veggie dog under the Yves brand, the former chef says the number one quality for being successful in business is perseverance. “People who are successful in business look at what’s missing in their life.”
