Today, the first location of new vegan chicken chain Next Level Clucker (NLC) opened for delivery and pick up in San Francisco. The new restaurant serves a menu focused on vegan chicken such as The Mother Clucker (a sandwich filled with double-stacked vegan chicken patties topped with organic guacamole, pickled jalapeños, organic tempeh bacon, pepper jack cheese, and organic jalapeño hot sauce and mayonnaise); Nashville Fire TenderClucks (spicy vegan chicken wings served with organic crinkle-cut fries and creamy slaw); and Chili’n’Chz Cluck Fries (crinkle-cut fries smothered in cheddar cheese, drizzled with sour cream, and topped with green onions). NLC also offers family and kids meals, chicken salads, sides, and a variety of milkshakes.
Hatched by Next Level Burger
NLC was created by vegan chain Next Level Burger (NLB), which was founded in 2014 in Bend, OR by husband-and-wife team Matthew and Cierra de Gruyter with the mission of serving healthy, plant-based fast-food to customers in their community. Through a partnership with Whole Foods Market, NLB has since expanded to several locations outside Oregon, including in-store outposts in Washington, California, New York, and Texas, with more locations to come.
“We’re thrilled to announce the debut of Next Level Clucker to San Francisco and the world! As America’s first 100-percent plant-based burger joint chain, it’s only fitting that Next Level Burger would help hatch America’s first coast-to-coast all vegan chik’n joint,“ Matthew de Gruyter said. “Who doesn’t love fried chik’n with all the epic sauces, organic slaw and fries with shakes to wash it all down? All plant-based awesomeness for the people and the planet. For those not in San Fran, stay tuned, we’re rolling out Next Level Clucker coast to coast!”
Additional locations of NLC are planned for Austin, TX; Oregon (Portland and Lake Oswego); Brooklyn, NY; Seattle, WA; and in Northern California’s East Bay.
