When it comes to creative flavors, Oreo doesn’t disappoint.
In the last few years, we’ve had horchata-inspired cookies, a collaboration with Reese’s, and even a Coca-Cola-flavored offering. And now, it seems the Mondelēz-owned brand is raising the bar again.
Oreo is about to launch three new limited-edition, vegan-friendly flavors: Banana Pudding, Deep Fried, and Chicken & Waffles. A spokesperson confirmed to VegNews that none of the new flavors contain dairy. “All three of the new flavors contain common allergens, including wheat and soy,” they said. “Safety is our top priority. Because our limited-edition flavors can have unique ingredient profiles and manufacturing processes, we strongly urge consumers with food allergies to carefully read the ingredient list statements on the packaging before consuming.”
This isn’t just a standard Oreo cookie launch. The brand is actually giving customers the power to bring their favorite flavor back for another run in 2027.
“For decades, our consumers have supported our wildest, most creative flavor endeavors, and now we want to elevate that relationship from a simple product drop into a dynamic, two-way conversation,” said Matt Foley, vice president of Oreo.
“By dropping three incredibly distinct flavors at once, Banana Pudding, Deep Fried, and Chicken & Waffles, we are giving our community true agency to help decide the future of our product lineup.”
The three new flavors will be available for presale on Oreo’s website and SnackWorks’ TikTok Shop starting August 17. They will start rolling out to stores on August 24.

What do Oreo’s new flavors taste like?
Oreo’s Banana Pudding cookies feature “layers of sweet banana and vanilla pudding in a deliciously delectable dual-layered creme, sandwiched between vanilla wafer cookies.” And for banana lovers, good news: Oreo is using real, puréed bananas in this formulation.

The Deep Fried cookies “have that iconic golden-fried, doughy flavor baked right into the cookie itself, with fried dough-flavored cookies wrapping layers of dark chocolate and fried dough flavored creme.”

And the Chicken & Waffles flavor is a mix of sweet maple syrup and savory flavors—including black pepper, celery spice, paprika, and natural smoke flavor—with two layers of creme. Interestingly, Oreo seems to be experimenting with chicken-flavored cookies right now. In China, it has even partnered with KFC to launch a new KFC Spicy Chicken cookie.
This is likely a reflection of the brand’s new focus on innovative, interesting flavors.
“Our 2026 Mondelez State of Snacking report proved that ‘delicious,’ ‘fun’ and ‘tasty’ are some of the leading benefits in social conversations. To meet that demand, we knew we had to bring our next bold flavor innovation to life through playful, yet unexpected flavor combinations,” explained Rohit Sakhamuri, Senior Brand Manager of Oreo Innovation, about the new North American limited-edition cookies.
He added: “Through over a year of meticulous research, we successfully transformed cultural fascination into a delicious reality, achieving the sensory balance our fans expect.”
Don’t worry, you’ll have plenty of time to try all three flavors for yourself. According to Oreo, the limited-edition cookies will stick around until October 12. During that time, you can cast your vote for your favorite by scanning the QR code on each pack or heading to the voting section on Oreo’s website.
“We know our fans are incredibly passionate about their favorite flavors, and we can’t wait to see which of these cookies they choose to bring back in 2027,” added Foley.
