Fast-casual chain QDOBA will expand the availability of its specially seasoned Impossible Meat to its 730 locations nationwide by May 28. In February, QDOBA tested the plant-based option—which can be ordered in any entrée in place of beef and is featured in two menu items: the Impossible Bowl and the Impossible Taco—in several of its Michigan locations. “During our test, we quickly learned that consumers loved our unique take on Impossible, making it an easy decision to launch nationally,” Jill Adams, vice president of marketing for QDOBA, said. “Our Impossible offering appeals to both meat lovers and vegans, while also delivering on the big, bold flavors that we’re known for at QDOBA.” The chain will begin adding the option to select locations in Denver, Los Angeles, and Brooklyn, NY, starting on April 23, with others to follow. “We’re thrilled to grow our partnership with QDOBA and further advance our mission of transforming the global food system to support the planet—as well as our growing population,”  David Lee, chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Impossible Foods, said. Similarly, after a successful trial period in Southern California, competing chain Del Taco will expand its specially formulated Beyond Meat vegan crumbles to its 580 locations nationwide starting on April 25.
