Easy Vegan Basil Pistou

Made without pine nuts and cheese, this French take on basil pesto can be used as a pasta sauce, in salad dressings, or to flavor vegetable dishes.

It takes just five minutes to make this delicious “pistou”—or cold pesto-like sauce from the Provence region of France. 

What you need:

2 cups packed fresh basil leaves
3 garlic cloves, chopped
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
A few grinds of black pepper

What you do:

Into a food processor, combine all ingredients and process until blended.
