This week, global restaurant chain Sizzler added new vegan meals to its menu at 30 locations across Thailand, including Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket. The 100-percent plant-based “Taste for the Future” menu, which is being offered in an effort to provide more plant-friendly meals, features a vegan Omni Steak—made with omnipork by Hong Kong-based brand Right Treat— topped with mushroom sauce and served with broccoli, zucchini, straw mushrooms, and thyme. Sizzler also partnered with vegan meat company Beyond Meat to offer a Beyond Chili Dog, a spiced hot dog served with red salsa, crusty bread, vegan cheese, and a baked potato; a Beyond Caramelized Onion Burger made of Beyond Meat’s vegan beef patty, vegetables, caramelized onions cooked in olive oil, and vegan cheese; and a Beyond Steak with spicy black pepper sauce paired with French fries and a side of vegetables. This is the first time the restaurant has offered plant-based options to its customers in the country.
