Suzy Amis Cameron Hosts Vegan Pre-Oscar Party

Environmental advocate Suzy Amis Cameron recently hosted a vegan pre-Oscars celebration for her sustainable fashion organization Red Carpet Green Dress (RCGD). The annual event brought together more than 160 guests in Beverly Hills, CA, including vegan actress Michelle Rodriguez and Amis Cameron’s vegan husband, award-winning director James Cameron. Each year the RCGD campaign works with internationally acclaimed designers to dress stars in ethical formal wear for the Oscars red carpet. Party guests enjoyed plant-based appetizers provided by Veganics and vodka cocktails. The celebration displayed the capsule collection from sustainable fashion house AMUR in collaboration with RCGD, which featured six looks such as the black Hallie Dress, a dramatic asymmetrical ruffle gown made of 100-percent recycled polyester, and the Peggy Bustier, a satin linen bustier top with seam details. The collection also used sustainable fabrics such as regenerated duchess satin, a yarn spun from recycled post-consumer plastic, and Asahi Kasai cupro, a Japanese fiber made from the waste of cotton production. “It’s an honor to partner with a brand like AMUR, a company who shares our vision and purpose for sustainable fashion,” Amis Cameron said. “Together, we are able to help transform people’s perception of what ethical-wear looks like. It’s sexy, it’s beautiful, well-made, and helps make our environment better to live in now and for years to come.” Twenty five percent of the proceeds of AMUR collection sales will be donated to MUSE School, an all-vegan elementary school co-founded by Amis Cameron and her sister Rebecca Amis.
