Grocery chain Trader Joe’s will soon launch its own vegan burger patties, according to a tip from a store employee. The employee posted an image of the forthcoming vegan burgers, called “Protein Patties,” in private Facebook group Vegan Trader Joe’s. The plant-based patties will contain 18 grams of protein each and the employee estimates that Trader Joe’s will sell a pack of two, four-ounce patties for $4.99. Trader Joe’s has recently increased its vegan offerings by bringing back coconut milk-based whipped cream (which was discontinued since 2017) and launching vegan ranch—a larger, coconut milk-based tub of a dip previously featured in a vegetable tray.
