Trader Joe’s debuted new Vegan Jackfruit “crabless” Cakes nationwide this week. The crabless cakes ($3.99) are made from jackfruit, potatoes, cilantro, green onions, celery seed, and a seasoning blend which mimics the taste and texture of seafood-based cakes. The crab cakes are sold in boxes of four and can be found in the freezer section. The popular grocer has released several new vegan products in recent months including seasonal offerings such as Cocoa Peppermint creamer and new flavors of cultured coconut milk yogurt. Trader Joe’s has also expanded its non-seasonal vegan offerings to include an unsweetened macadamia nut beverage, Miyoko’s lox-style cream cheese, and Lightlife’s chicken tenders.
