United Kingdom-based vegan protein company The Meatless Farm Co. recently launched its meat-free ground beef and burger products in more than 350 grocery, butcher, and specialty food stores—including select Longo’s, Loblaws, and Stong’s Market—in Ontario, British Columbia, and Newfoundland. The company partnered with Toronto-based distributor Dolan Foods Inc. to bring the products to the Canadian market as the distributor’s first meat-free partner. The company will distribute its six pack of meatless sausages in Canadian stores soon and also plans to expand distribution of all products to other provinces. “We’re excited to continue building on the fantastic adoption we’ve seen in the UK, Europe, UAE, and most recently, the US,” Morten Toft Bech, founder of The Meatless Farm, said. “We believe that swapping to plant-based products should be simple and shouldn’t require individuals to compromise on taste or texture. Our products have been recognized globally for their premium taste. Canadians looking to swap out meat for healthy, plant-based alternatives that taste great can now use our products in their everyday favourite home-cooked meals.” Earlier this year, the company debuted its products at 450 Whole Foods Markets in the United States. Founder Morten Toft Bech also urged all supermarkets to phase out their meat departments in favor of integrated protein aisles that incorporate all forms of protein, including plant-based.
