San Diego-based vegan chain Plant Power Fast Food (PPFF) recently launched its Plant Power branded cheesecakes in 14 Southern California locations of Whole Foods Market. The cheesecakes are sold by the slice and come in New York-style and chocolate fudge flavors. This is the first major retail launch for PPFF, which also stocks its cheesecakes at San Diego’s Mother’s and Jimbo’s Markets. “We’re extremely proud to have our 100-percent vegan cheesecakes on the shelves at Whole Foods Market, and excited by the opportunity to offer people another choice to opt-out of dairy products when they’re craving something sweet,” PPFF co-founder and co-CEO Zach Vouga told VegNews. While the cheesecakes are currently being piloted at the major retailer, Vouga hopes they will eventually expand into a nationwide rollout.
