The second annual all-vegan Fair Trade Fashion Show will be held Saturday at the Cross Campus space in downtown Los Angeles. The event is curated by female-owned vegan fashion e-tailer Bead & Reel and will feature pertinent lecturers such as Emmy-award winner Paul Freedman and The True Cost documentary filmmaker Andrew Morgan, vegan food and drinks, and a runway fashion show highlighting cruelty-free designers. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to benefit women of The Peace Exchange in Congo—a global organization promoting jobs and sustainable practices in areas of poverty. Vegan fashion has been moving into the spotlight thanks to shows like these and brands such as Armani—which will be fur free starting with its 2016 fall/winter collection—pushing the fashion industry toward more compassionate practices.
