Food technology startup JUST announced today that it has partnered with global foodservice provider Aramark to bring its mung-bean-based egg replacer JUST Egg to corporate, healthcare, and college cafeterias. Starting on Monday, a JUST Egg Breakfast Patty will be available for a limited time at select Aramark-managed cafes nationwide. “Launching JUST Egg is a major milestone and we’re thrilled to have Aramark as one of our first global foodservice providers,” JUST Co-founder and CEO Josh Tetrick said. “[This launch will] help us expand our reach and further our mission in bringing food that’s not only delicious, but healthier and more sustainable, to a larger audience.” Currently, 30 percent of Aramark menu items are vegetarian or vegan, but results from Aramark’s research suggests that 80 percent of consumers would be open to trying plant-based food products that are new to them. This fall, JUST began rolling out its JUST Egg to retail stores nationwide such as Wegman’s, Gelson’s, Hy-Vee, and Fresh Thyme, with more retailers to be added in early 2019. Starting on November 1, a JUST Egg breakfast sandwich will also be on the menu at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Singapore.
