On May 18, items worn by vegan entertainer Miley Cyrus on the Disney show Hannah Montana will be auctioned at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York City. During the show’s run from 2006 to 2011, Cyrus portrayed the dual life of character Miley Stewart—an average teen that was secretly pop star Hannah Montana. The auction will feature items from the show such as the character’s black satin jacket, custom sneakers, and a pink tank top. The event will also auction costumes from Cyrus’ Best of Both Worlds tour—the star’s 2004 debut tour wherein she portrayed her character from Hannah Montana and herself as a singer. All profits from the auction will be donated to nonprofit Wilder Minds to support its efforts in saving wild animals. Since adopting a vegan lifestyle in 2014, Cyrus has used her fame to advocate for animal rights, including in the fashion industry. The star has collaborated with apparel brand Converse on three all-vegan collections that feature her art, including last year’s holiday line which included 25 pieces such as velour sweatshirts, platform sneakers with star-emblazoned soles, velvet shoes and tracksuits, and glitter bodysuits.
